WHAT IS BETA GLUCAN AND WHY IS IT IMPORTANT?
A NATURAL, NON-TOXIC, NON-SPECIFIC IMMUNE RESPONSE ENHANCER Glucans are sugar molecules found in
every living thing from a blade of grass to an elephant. There are many different types found to
date. Fueled by research in immunology and cancer over the past 50 years, there is much interest
in Beta Glucans. Beta 1,3 Glucan is a very specific polyglucose molecule which research has proven.
More specifically, in its natural combination with Beta 1,6, Glucan activates non-specific immune
response cascades via macrophages, monocytes, neutrophitis, etc., as well as enhances the function
of natural killer cells and other immune factors such as interferon, tumor necroses factors, and
interlukins-1,2 and 6. Non-specific means it is very broad in the action it provokes, stimulating
an immune cascade for cells to be able to recognize and to go after any foreigner, whether cancer
cells, yeast, virus, proteins from undigested foods, pollens and pet dander, cellular debris, etc.
Research references are available by the hundreds, dating back to the 1940's. Recent research efforts
are ongoing [Harvard, Baylor, Univ. of Oregon, Georgia, Michigan, Texas and others], and the more we
discover about substances such as aloe, miatake mushrooms, lentinen, reishi mushrooms, chitosan, and
many other substances that seem to have definite immune modulating effects, we discover that one of
the main common factors in these other extracts is a Beta 1,3 Glucan linkage. This molecule is the key
that fits into the receptor on the macrophage and stimulates the cell to start the cascade.
Super Beta 1, 3 is a proprietary blend of highly purified, concentrated insoluble Beta 1, 3 Glucan,
still containing side links of Beta 1,6 Glucan [mannen] plus MSM [organic, bioavailable sulfur],
