B-12 – What’s The Big Deal?

Humans need a lot of different vitamins and minerals to thrive, each in different amounts. It can be complicated to keep track of it all, but a vitamin or mineral deficit can result in very negative health complications. You may have run across a lot of news about B-12 over the last few years. What is B-12, and why do you need it?

B-12 is one of the eight B vitamins you need to live a healthy life. It is only found in animal products. It plays an important role in making sure your brain, nervous system, and metabolism are working correctly. B12 isn’t something that our bodies produce naturally, so we have to get it from our diets or through supplementation. Many of us may not be getting enough Vitamin B-12. According to the Tufts University Framingham Offspring Study, roughly 40% of the study’s subjects between the ages of 26 and 83 showed B12 levels in the low normal range or worse. At this range, individuals may show symptoms of B-12 deficiency, such as memory loss, decreased mobility, and overall cognitive decline. Vegetarians & vegans are more susceptible to having Vitamin-12 deficiency, since they do not consume animal products.

If you are worried about your Vitamin B-12 levels, visit your doctor and ask to be tested. If your levels come back low, then consider supplementing your diet with our specially formulated B-12 Complete spray.
